Turramurra North Public School has three bands – Junior, Intermediate and Senior – across Years 3 to 6.
Our bands regularly participate in school assemblies and have the opportunity to represent the school at music festivals and other external events. Students learn their instruments in a fun and nurturing environment with support and guidance from our Conductors.
We love to welcome new musicians! Students can join the band program from Year 3, and we welcome newcomers at all stages and levels of proficiency. Weekly rehearsals are scheduled before and after school, and all students are expected to have weekly private tuition in addition to their band practice.
The TNPS Band program is an extra-curricular activity, coordinated by the P&C Association and supported by wonderful volunteers. Fees are carefully set to cover the cost of running the program and maintaining the instruments we have for hire.
Band is a big commitment, but it is hugely rewarding for our musicians, and our wider school community. If you would like further information, please contact our P&C Band Co-ordinator, Kath Selkirk, at band@tnpspandc.com.au
